George Mason University English professor Debra Lattanzi Shutika and George Mason student Kerry Kaleba are featured on the “With Good Reason” public radio interview show this week discussing the behind-the-scenes work that takes place at Arlington National Cemetery.

As part of a Field School for Cultural Documentation this past summer, 12 Mason undergraduate and graduate students conducted the first-ever occupational documentation of Arlington National Cemetery. This work included oral histories with key cemetery staff and detailed accounts of how the implementation of new workplace technologies has transformed day-to-day operations at the cemetery.

The interview with Shutika and Kaleba is part of the segment “Documenting Arlington National Cemetery,” which airs through Nov. 15. The show can be heard locally on Mason’s radio station, WGMU, and on WAMU.88 FM. Broadcast times are posted at withgoodreasonradio.org/when-to-listen/.

Audio files of the full program and its companion news feature are also posted this week at the “With Good Reason” website.
