Mason’s distinguished faculty — endowed chairs, University and Distinguished Professors, Robinson Professors and Distinguished Service Professors — gathered on Aug. 22 at an annual reception to welcome new members to their ranks.

Provost Peter Stearns expressed gratitude to the faculty members “for all you do for George Mason University. Thank you for what you have done and continue to do and will do in the future,” he said.

“This group is incredibly useful for me, personally,” said President  Ángel Cabrera. He thanked the group for understanding “that our students come first, and you set an example by your example.” He also noted that the faculty is “the voice and the face of the university around the world.” And he expressed appreciation to the faculty for “sharing with me your insights about the university. Your opinions mean a great deal to me.”
