New Members Appointed to Board of Visitors

Three new members were appointed to George Mason University’s Board of Visitors, and one current member was reappointed to the board, Gov. Bob McDonnell announced.

The new appointees are:

  • Tom Davis of Vienna, Va., director of government relations at Deloitte & Touche LLP. Davis, a former U.S. congressman and former chair of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, is an adjunct professor in Mason’s Department of Public and International Affairs since 2008 and a member of the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study’s Advisory Board since 2009. Davis has an undergraduate degree in political science from Amherst College and a law degree from the University of Virginia.
  • Anne C. Gruner of McLean, Va., vice president and co-owner of J.K. Gruner and Associates Ltd., a consultancy specializing in global business intelligence, risk management, investigations and problem solving. Gruner previously was a career intelligence officer at the Central Intelligence Agency. After retiring from the CIA, she earned a JD from Georgetown University and practiced family law at Fite, O’Brien and Anderson LLP. Gruner also has an MA in law and diplomacy from Tufts University and a BS in foreign service from Georgetown University.
  • Kelly McNamara Corley, JD ’89, of Winnetka, Ill., executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Discover Financial Services, and a member of the company’s Executive Committee. She previously worked as managing director for Morgan Stanley’s global government and regulatory relations. McNamara Corley received Mason’s School of Law Distinguished Alumni Award in 2011.  She has a BA in political science from the University of Southern California.

John M. Jacquemin was reappointed to the Board of Visitors. Jacquemin, of McLean, Va., is president and CEO of Mooring Financial Services and was previously appointed to the board in 2012 to fill an unexpired term. Jacquemin received a BA degree in general arts and science from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Dartmouth College.

The members’ terms are July 1, 2013, to June 30, 2017.
