George Mason University is listed among the top 200 of “America’s Top Colleges” in the 2013 report just out from Forbes.

George Mason comes in at 197 on the ranking of universities and is one of nine colleges in Virginia in the top 200. According to Forbes, the list focuses on return on investment for students and considers a university’s student satisfaction, graduates’ success, student debt, graduation rates and student competitive awards.

In a statement, Gov. Bob McDonnell congratulated the Virginia colleges on the list, saying, “Virginia’s higher education system is one of the best in the nation and the world.”

The governor added, “Virginia’s colleges continue to become more affordable and accessible for Virginia’s students. We know that a high quality education is essential for the high quality, high paying jobs of the future.”
