masonideaJust one more week to go until the most innovative inauguration you’ll ever attend: An idea, A Vision, A Future.

There will be uplifting music and stirring images, entertaining videos, stories, processions, lights, cameras and action. At the center of it all: the Mason idea and President Ángel Cabrera’s vision of a university for the world.

You’ll hear from Laura Fornash, Virginia Secretary of Education; C. Daniel Clemente, rector of the George Mason University Board of Visitors; John T. “Til” Hazel, representing Mason’s “Founding Fathers”; and Steve Case, Internet pioneer and CEO of Revolution. Faculty, staff, alumni and student leaders will share their interpretations of the Mason idea.

Special guests include former Mason presidents George Johnson and Alan Merten, as well as university presidents and delegates from around the country.

It all begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 26. After the program, attendees are invited to free lunch and early admittance at Mason Day, which takes place outdoors in Lot L.

It’s a Mason event people will be talking about for years to come—so attend if you can. See inauguration.gmu.edu for all the details and to share your well-wishes in the Mason Guestbook.
