Hylton Performing Arts Center Announces 2013-14 Season

HyltonpresentsThe Hylton Performing Arts Center at George Mason University’s Prince William Campus announced its 2013-14 season of performances, including events in the Hylton Presents season and the Hylton Family Series, as well as the Castleton Festival at the Hylton performances and events by the Hylton Center’s Resident Arts Partners.

Prince William Health System, affiliated with Novant Health, also announced the renewal of its Hylton Presents season sponsorship.

The 2013-2014 Hylton Presents season features 18 performances by world-class artists and ensembles, including Grammy Award-winning jazz pianist Peter Nero, Shanghai Ballet, Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra with Cuban jazz pianist Chuchito Valdes, Hungarian State Folk Ensemble, Vienna Boys Choir, Leahy, The Peking Acrobats, The Acting Company with its company premiere of “Hamlet,” Japanese Taiko drumming ensemble TAO and more.

Now entering its third season, the highly successful Hylton Family Series returns with an exciting collection of four modestly priced events for families to enjoy and experience the arts together. The performances this year include Imago Theatre’s “Frogz,” The Cashore Marionettes’ “Simple Gifts,” Garry Krinsky’s “Toying with Science” and the Pushcart Players’ “Happily Ever After — A Cinderella Tale.”

In addition, the Hylton Center announced the new season for its Resident Arts Partners, a group of performing arts ensembles that make their home at the Hylton Center. The Partners include Manassas Symphony Orchestra, Manassas Ballet Theatre, Prince William Little Theatre, Manassas Chorale and Youth Orchestras of Prince William.

Finally, the Hylton Center announced the third annual Castleton Festival at the Hylton. This summer, the Hylton Performing Arts Center partners with the Castleton Festival to present two performances in the Hylton Center’s Merchant Hall on June 30 and July 18. Each performance features world-renowned conductor and Castleton Festival founder Lorin Maazel conducting the Castleton Festival Orchestra and artists.
