IT Security Office Offers Cyber Security Awareness Seminars

To mark National Cyber Security Awareness Month in October and to raise awareness about cyber security, the IT Security Office has organized a series of  seminars for the Mason community.

Presented by the IT Security Office staff, these seminars will provide you with valuable information on staying safe online. They will consist of presentations, interactive activities and tips. This year’s theme is Our Shared Responsibility, and the IT Security Office would like to remind you that we all play a part in cyber security.

The seminars will be held on Thursdays from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center thirdfloor Meeting Room B. The dates and topics are:

  • Oct. 4: Home Security Part I: Staying Safe Online at Home
  • Oct. 11: Home Security Part II: Securing Your PC
  • Oct. 18: Email Security—Phishing and Scams
  • Oct. 25: Social Networking and Cloud Services
